The Brief
Biffen Lecture Theatre at Cambridge University has a high turn around rate. As one of the Iconic institutions most utilised education spaces, thousands of students will carry a lifetime of learning out of its walls. Productivity therefore, is paramount. The University wanted to understand how this might be improved through cleaner air, delivered at moderated temperatures more consistently.
Challenge
An “across the board” improvement in air quality whilst simultaneously reducing carbon footprint and creating cost efficiencies. Focussing on improving productivity for students and lecturers alike.
Solution
Light Base-Pro IOT sensors coupled with a suite of additional sensors covering radar/PIR to offer unparalleled real time occupancy automation of a single AHU resulted in a large efficiency increase coupled with ongoing air quality monitoring to ensure consistent levels of clean moderated air and temperature.
